A landowner contacted Castle Environmental due to a considerable amount of hazardous waste that had been left on their site by a former tenant. The backlog of waste had built up over several years and posed a serious environmental risk.

Over a number of months, Castle Environmental provided a team of chemists to site, sampling and assessing 1,000+ Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). Due to the age of the containers, we also re-packed numerous IBCs to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.

Utilising all 3 of our treatment plant locations, we treated and recycled a wide range of liquids, sludges and solids in a safe and cost-effective manner.

In addition to the assessment, collection and disposal of the waste, Castle Environmental provided an industrial cleaning team to fully decontaminate and clean bulk storage tanks, drains and oil/water interceptors.

Our work ensured a serious environmental risk was removed from the customer’s site in a safe and efficient manner.
